Delete your account and data

You can delete your Adawate Muslims account and associated data at any time, free of charge, in the app or with a simple request.
1. In the app (immediate)
- Open Adawate Muslims and go to the Halaqat tab.
- Tap your profile picture at the top of the screen.
- At the bottom of the profile, tap Delete my account and confirm (with your password if you set one).
To remove only your verified number: More › Chat Community, then Deactivate Account.
2. By email (without the app)
Write to contact@adawatemuslims.com with the subject “Account deletion”, giving the phone number linked to your account and, if possible, your display name. To protect your account, we may send you an SMS code to confirm the request comes from you. We handle your request within 24 to 48 hours, and we confirm by email.
What is deleted
- your profile (name, photo, city, phone, password, chat keys);
- your enrolments, logbook, attendance, notes, assignments and quiz results;
- your recitation recordings and your profile photo;
- your messages (private conversations on both sides, and your messages in groups) and your sign-in tokens;
- your data backup and the devices linked to your account for notifications.
What may be kept
- Halaqat you created as a sheikh are archived and hidden so your students keep their own history; your name is replaced by “Deleted account”.
- Documents you uploaded to a halaqa’s library stay there under the name “Deleted account”; email us if you want them removed.
- The verification code log (security) is kept for at most 90 days, and anonymous statistics for at most 24 months.
- Data required by law, for the duration of the legal obligation.
Data kept only on your phone is erased when you uninstall the app.
