Who we are
Adawate Muslims is published by Adawate Muslims, Marrakech, Morocco, the data controller. Contact: contact@adawatemuslims.com.
We comply with Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of personal data and, for users in the European Union, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Our commitments
- No selling or renting of your data.

Service providers
To run the service, we rely on a small number of established technical providers: hosting and security, delivery of notifications and verification codes, maps and weather, audio content and religious texts, and streaming of some lessons. They act only to operate the service and may not use your data for their own purposes.
Some are located outside Morocco; these transfers are limited to what is necessary and covered by their contractual commitments. Feel free to write to us with any question.
Why this information
This information is used only to run the services you choose to use (prayer times, halaqat, notifications, chat), with your consent, and to protect the app against abuse. We do not use it for any other purpose: no advertising, no resale, no profiling.
Security
Communication with the app is encrypted, halaqa chats are end-to-end encrypted, and access is protected. A short preview of a message may appear in the notification; you can turn it off in the chat options. As no system is infallible, we would inform you and the competent authority of any incident likely to affect you, within the time limits set by law.
Retention
- Account and halaqa activity: as long as the account exists; deleted with it.
- Verification codes: a few minutes; security logs, 90 days at most.
- Statistics: 24 months at most.
- Data kept on your phone: erased when you uninstall the app.
This website
The website counts its visits without advertising cookies and without storing your IP address: page viewed, language, approximate country and city, device type and links clicked. These figures are used only to improve the site; they are kept for 400 days and shared with no one.
Suggestion form: we keep your message, the chosen topic, your name and email if you give them, the page language and your approximate country or city, so that we can read and answer you. You can ask for their deletion at any time. On that page only, a technical cookie, with no tracking, protects the form against automated submissions.
Language: when you arrive, the site opens in the language of your country (Arabic by default). If you choose another language, a small cookie remembers it for your next visits, with no tracking.
Children
Adawate Muslims is for all ages, including students of Quran halaqat. A child under 13 (or the age set by the law of their country) uses account features with the consent of a parent or guardian, usually through their halaqa. We ask for the minimum information, show no targeted advertising, and a parent can request access to or deletion of their child’s data. See also our child safety standards.
Your rights
You may at any time request access to your data, its correction, deletion or portability, object to processing or withdraw your consent. Many of these actions can be done directly in the app; otherwise, write to contact@adawatemuslims.com: we reply within 24 to 48 hours.
You may also contact Morocco’s data protection authority (CNDP) or the data protection authority of your country.
To delete your account: Delete my account and data.
Changes
This policy may change, for example when a feature is added. The update date appears at the top of the page; for significant changes, we will let you know in the app.
